Quantum Lattice Boltzmann Method: Approximating the Nonlinear Collision Term
Quantum ComputingDynamical Systems
The quantum lattice Boltzmann method (QLBM) is a quantum-computing analogue of the classical Lattice Boltzmann method for fluid simulation. A key difficulty is representing the nonlinear collision term that governs diffusion, since quantum circuits naturally implement linear operations. During this internship, a two-dimensional, linearly-approximated version of the collision term was implemented and benchmarked for accuracy and performance against the classical formulation.
